I am getting a XBOX 360. Anyone answer these questions?

Right, i have decided to get a XBOX 360 with my christmas money.

So I have two questions.

Is the £60-odd XBOX steering wheel worth the money?

I am really into my racing games so what games would you advise?

Am getting FOrza and PGR4 for sure

Good racing games - Forza 2 (for simulation) and Race Driver Grid (for Arcade style racing).

Steering wheel not really needed to be honest but im sure others will disagree!

Maybe just purchase the games/xbox then buy the wheel after.

The wheel adds loads to the driving game experience, but you really need something proper to fit it to so you can use it properly and get comfortable. If you are going to end up bent over the coffee table with the wheel fixed to the surface and the pedals jammed under the seat then its not much cop and you would be better without.

Also go for the real microsoft wheel, by far the best one. Same as others have said though, think where you could sit, seems to be a common issue, people buy the wheel and can't find a comfortable seating position. Also remember although its wireless to the xbox, it does use a mains power feed. Can be used without the mains supply, but no force feedback etc etc.

ps PGR4 is a good quick laugh, easy to play and put down, arcade racer.

Forza2 is more serious, takes time to get the hang of, more of a simulator than PGR, not as many tracks as PGR.

Choose which is best for you (if not both )

Microsoft wheel is definately well worth the £60 IMO!

Forza2 is a must for me, but as is Cod4! I've also read on here however that we should be expecting a new game sometime early next year called RaceDriver (or something similar!) which for me looks as though it could be right on the money and perhaps a worthy alternative the giant of simulation racing that is Forza2!

worth getting PGR3 IMO too as some aspects of it were more fun than '4

Vote for the wheel from me - I have one and use it with the aid of a futon and a small table I can get my knees under. The force feedback really does add a lot to the driving experience (particularly Forza 2).

I've not tried the wheel on Halo yet...

Me and my dad are going to knock up a small table type thing out of a couple of bits of wood. Doesnt have to be special, just do the job

I would grab Forza for realism and pick up Ridge Racer 6 for arcade - I find the PGR series a bit bland and soulless!

I ahve played PGR4 quite alot at my sisters house and I love it May get ridge race one day though. Thanks for the idea!

Wheel is great - just sometimes get fed up getting it out and putting it away.

Try one of those fold out picnic tables - I stole my mum and dad's! Is very quick to get out and can easily slide under the sofa!

Best thing is you can put all your remotes, controllers etc and beer on the top whilst you race!

Get a catheter and you can play for days without having to ever move!

Oh, and being over 30 with my own place I never have to worry about mum shouting at me!

I knocked this together (incl. table thing)for about a tenners worth of bits from B and Q so I could try to keep up with my son and his thumb.

It keeps pedals and wheel where they're supposed to be, instead of wandering all over the place mid-corner, etc.

The upturned bit tucks under the front of the sofa, so you can push on the pedals as hard as you like.

Sorry it's a bit fuzzy...camera must have a hangover ...like me.
