rFactor - Custom resolutions
Discussion
Ive bought a new monitor which is 24" widescreen with an unusual 16/10 aspect ratio (1920*1200)
With my slow graphics card I cant run the default monior resolution as I would only get 1fps
I have previously been using 1024*640 but with the new monitor the bottom of the screen isnt visible, and I cant fix it using the monitor conrols (this is with the widescreen box ticked)
If I choose 1024*768 then I can see everything but the cars are streched out and it looks very weird.
Is there any way to fix this problem?
Can I some how add extra resolutions to the list in rFactor?
Thanks for any help.

If it was working http://forum.racesimcentral.com would be the place to search, sure I've seen this before and there must be a config file somewhere that you change a few things in.

Its not working. But I have found a way to run 1024*768 with black lines at the edges of the screen, which is better than stretched cars. There was an option in the montor settings.
I would like to get widescreen working, but this will do for the moment.

Got it connected via DVI?
ATI or NVidia?
Its Nvidia and its connected using old style analogue plug (D-Sub?) my laptop is too cheap to have a DVI conector.ATI or NVidia?
I wanted to be able to play in widescreen, in the same way as I was able to on my laptop screen, but the 16*10 aspect ratio messes it up. At least I think thats the problem.
All widescreen PC monitors are 16:10 and rFactor does support some widescreen resolutions 1920x1200 and 1650x1080, however another popular widescreen res is 1440x900 and this isn't supported by rFactor out of the box (dunno if you can add custom resolutions?), which is a shame as it would suit my PC better than 1650x1080

I dont think you understand the problem.
THe fault is the monitor not the resolutions avalable.
Im trying to play at 1024*640 which is a 16*10 resolution, but the monitor wont display it properly, it misses a section at the bottom of the screen out.
I will try 1280*800 but this might make my FPS too low... my graphics are pretty crap on some of the more detailed tracks.
EDIT - 1280*800 displays properly, I will test my FPS tomorrow. Otherwise 1024*768 with black lines at the edges will have to do unless I can work out how to configure the monitor to work at 1024*640 (which is my prefred resolution)

Just checked my video options and since moving from DVI back to VGA I now have access to way more widescreen resolutions, have you got 960x600?
