i had one section (bottom right) on sunday. went out and bought another box fearing the worst. got home and decided to follow the youtube video to fix it (e74 fail code) thinking i had nothing to lose and it worked
so if you want another 360 let me know as i am gonna sell the one i bought.

MK4 - that sucks. What are we going to do without you?
I have had 3 rrod's since buying one of the first 360's...most recently 2nd Jan this year.
MS have always been good on the return / repair or replace regardless if the unit was in or out of warranty.
However, this time I coudln't be ar5ed with waiting for the unit to be sent off, repaired and returned again so i bought one of the black elites as they (alledgedly) have a better rep for reliability than the white one (different chipset?). If / when the old white box was repaired replaced i was going to take it to Game/station to trade in (they'll give you £80 for a used one) or throw it on ebay.
Elite is good - playing the games off the 120gb hard drive makes it a much quieter machine and in theory they could/should run quicker (although don't know if that part is balls). Other than that haven't noticed many other differences.
BUT - pain in the backside part is transferring the data from your existing harddrive to the bigger one.
MS worked on the basis that 99.9% of customers buying the Elite would be newbies, not upgraders - their thinking being that if you just wanted to upgrade the memory, the 120gb pack they sell contains a one-time use transfer cable and disc. This doesn't come in the Elite box with the Elite - you have to email off for it seperately and took over 3 weeks for it to come through (meaning you just use the old drive until the cable arrives).

Willy, invaluable advice there buddy. I'm going to buy the Elite today and get home see if the old box works after 8-9 hours of chilling as I'll want to play it more if I've not got one. I hope I don't lose my account or I will go mental & end up on the news

Account recovery is quite easy, so he should be ok. I managed to get my account working on Arathoons xbox and then reworking on mine again no problems. Is yours one of the original 360's phil?If you can't recover your account, back to square 1 on COD5.

WTF is an 'arcade' when it's at home?The poundshop version with no hard disc. But that's fine for you 'cos you have a hard disc with all your game saves already. Plug it in the top and you'll be away. It's cheaper 'cos it comes with a s
