xbox 360 mic

I can't use the xbox 360 headset that came with the machine as I have to play with headphones on rather than play it through the speakers so can't wear headphones and headset at the same time so...

While wearing the headphones I can hear the chat but is it clearer through the headset?

If not and I'm getting the full chat through the normal sound channels is there a way to rig up a standard microphone to use instead of the headset?

I'm pretty sure you can adjust the voice volume in the XBox menus - I know a lot of games like PGR4 allow you to do it in the options menu too.

If you want to hold a conversation AND hear music, you'll be wanting to get something like this:

Alternatively, you could try and create your own - copious amounts of gaffa tape will probably be needed!

HAve a look on ebay, I'm pretty sure you can get an adaptor.

Cheers. I already have some pretty decent headphones that I use in the office and I play at my desk through my vga monitor so have a desk mic in front of me so was wondering how I could use that. I'll look in to the adapters.

There is an adapter on ebay that works as a splitter to two separate 3.5mm sockets, allowing connection of seperate mic and headphones, the missus whats me to get one so she can listen to what's being said and wondering why I'm p*ssing myself laughing sometimes.......not sure its a good idea though considering recent topics, cow tipping, Micheal 'black or white' Jackson and dont even go there with Forza wifes/girlfriends/MOTHERS
