FPS Games with active communities?

Recently been playing on some of the older FPS, Loved Ghost recon years ago and im a huge fan of Novas BlackHawk down game,
Unfortunatly with BHD being an old game, im struggling to find servers to play on, Counterstrike/TFC are good for a quick blast but i prefer the slower paced games,
Anyone here play any of the more recent nova titles? or similar game with an active player base?

If you are a fan of the NovaLogic games, pick up Joint Operations and it's expansion Escalation - you WILL love them. I wasted my last months £15 subscription to Eve Online because I stupidly installed joint ops and played it every night...
It's got a pretty large player base, a good community, and 100player plus servers. The only thing I miss is when I used to play it when it first came out, one of the 60km square maps used to have no time limit, so you'd come back after a day at work and your team would still be fighting the same game.
It's really addictive though
