Nurburgring on PS3

Hi, sorry if it's been covered before, but I'm off to the ring next month and wouldn't mind learning a bit of the track on the PS3 before I go.

Which game is the best for this?

Gran Turismo 4 most probably (if your ps3 can read ps2 games), or I think there will be an update for Ferrari Challenge that has it, although not sure if it will be out in time.

How do i know if my PS3 can read PS2 games?

Can't believe there's no games out for the PS3 with the ring on yet

I think if you have one of the earlier PS3s which had a 60gb hard-drive, they have backwards compatability.

I've got one of those, didnt realise it was special.

Why did they remove the backwards compatibility on the later models? Cost related possibly?

Yeah I recon that may have been it, my brother has a newer one (80gb) it doesn't have the card readers or chrome finish, and generally looks cheaper.
