PS3 help

is there anyone out there that knows a good solution to fixing a ~PS3?. what has happened is, we have come back from holiday and when we turn it on the green light flashes , nearly turns on, then a yellow light flashes the retuns to standby please help

How old is yours ?

I had a similar problem that giving the thing a good hoovering sorted out.if it is less than a year old just ring sony for a replacement.

Even if it is over a year old, try Sony. I had a problem with mine that it would not read disks. They swapped it out for a new one.

the ps3 has a secret "self cleaning" trick (not sure if older ps3's have this)

turn it off at the back.

whilst holding down the eject button, turn it on at the back. this will run all the fans at 100% for a few seconds. quite surprising how loud it is! upon completion, turn it off at the back again, and then back on.

this will clear out all dust etc from inside thus ruling that out as a problem.

nah mate mine is atleast 3 yearsold

Yep, Sony's repair policy is great. My mate's son jammed 2 disks into his and Sony just replaced it and the disks , no questions asked.

Still worth trying giving Sony a ring
