What is this old arcade game?

When I was much younger, say about 25 years ago(!), I used to love this arcade game that was in our local chippy.

It was a shoot em up similar to Phoenix and Galaxian I think?

As you progressed through the levels, your 'ship' got extra guns which you had to dock on top to a maximum of 3 I think?

Does anyone know what this game was?

Sounds reamrkebly like Galaxian!

Can't think off the top of my head many others like that. However... try here. If you can't find it there, it's probably all in your mind!

I dont think it was Galaxian, but as you say, it may indeed be in my mind (Some brain cells have been damaged over the years!)

Did you have to 'dock' on Galaxian?

It was set out like Space Invaders. You started with one 'gun' and then as you progressed you got to dock this gun on to a double gun I think!

Galaga looks like it except for the gunship. I would say it wasnt this.

I will recognise it when i see it!

The key thing is that you had to dock extra guns on top of the ship!
