Currently scheduled for release sometime in 2010, Aliens vs. Predator is a first-person shooter that will feature no fewer than three story-driven campaigns in addition to multiplayer features. Earlier today, during a behind-closed-doors meeting with developer Rebellion, we were afforded our first look at the colonial marines campaign and then, at Sega's show-floor booth, we checked out a great demo of the predator campaign.

And a few videos-

It looks awesome, one I`m looking forward to immensely after the reviews of Terminator salvation seem disappointing ..a missed opportunity to really take the licence forward perhaps.
It`s got to be the most anticipated release for the 360 after COD4 part 2 & Forza 3.

Some are saying that the game Aliens: Colonial Marines, is the old title for what is now the alien vs predator game above?
I always thought we had two new alien games coming, but that might not be the case.

There are two seperate games. Colonial Marines is a squad based shooter, bit like Ghost Recon but with Aliens and more swearing.

The original AvP was amazing.

The 3 games in one type thing playing as the marines was bloody scary. When the scanner started to beep and all you have is the pulse rifle.

I might have to buy this if it lives up to the original.

How ironic! I was just hunting the web for news on Colonial Marines, but there is absolutely nothing! Maybe Aliens vs Predator is the old Colonial Marines re designed and re badged??

Colonial marines isn't a true first person shooter though, is it?

Yes. I remember playing it on the PC once many years ago, network play with my mate in a very dark room. I think I was a soldier and he was an alien, climbing all over the ceilings and stuff, shat myself. Very atmospheric!

AvP 1 and 2 were both great (although the expansion packs were a bit lacklustre as i recall.)

By using all the Aliens sound effects and eerie atmosphere I remember being absolutely scared out of my wits a few times whilst playing...something I can't remember experiencing with any other games.

When that motion sensor starting pulsing in a dark, still corridor it was absolutely terrifying and very very stressful .......

"What the hell are we supposed to use man? Harsh language?" cool

never played the second one but i remember the first being seriously scary. the only game i couldnt actually finish when playing as a marine as it had me on edge so much.

i was hoping dead space would be like that and it deff didnt look forward to more monsters coming especially towards the end but still doesnt match avp for the terror sweats.....

Yep, both were fantastic... the first one iirc had the automatic gun sound/visuals down to perfection, the 2nd wasn't as good there, but then the 2nd really did + on the multiplayer. Absolutely fantastic on our 6-8 player LAN games. Starting off as a face hugger, then a baby alien, growing to a small dog burster, then an alien proper, then after another few kills a queen biggrin
OR, if you got a predator, you became a predator alien, until finally the queen again biggrin

Just oodles of fun. Lets hope they release it for the PC and keep that fun aspect going in the multiplayer!

Nah, they're 2 separate games, Marines has been postponed in favour of this first but will be released later.

The AVP Extinction on my old PS2 was brilliant.

You could have a mass swarm of aliens or a seriously hard bunch of predators. Which personally i loved using as they could pretty much destroy everythinglaugh

I do agree with the earry (sp) sound of the marines scanner though eek

+1 it was really good..........Predator's spear rife was brilliant could blow the head of both marines and aliens and pin em to the wall.
