Given that's there's little between PC Gaming and console gaming these days I find that statement rather bizarre.

Me, too. The only plus side to console gaming is that you don't have to bugger about trying to install and configure stuff or wonder if it's really going to play on your PC.

Otherwise, I prefer a keyboard and mouse for most games (whether FPS or top-down adventure).

PC gaming is wk because to get the same game you need to spend loads on a PC, fk about for weeks setting it up, download all sorts of drivers, install and re-install all the time, download patches when developers can't be arsed to finish games, get anti-virus software, download more anti-virus software and then the game doesn't work because you have the wrong fking video card or something cretinus like that.

I used to game on my PC but gave up because it is completely and utterly ridiculous.

You in fact make my point by saying: "there's little between PC Gaming" so the games are the same but on a console you have none of the infuriating, money and time wasting aggro'.

nope you just have to be content with playing with 16 guys in a game online, pants anti analising and low frame rates. Plus you end up spending £20 a time on downloads only to find in 2 weeks time the PC gets them for free.

Here's an Idea...

Let's talk about the game FFS!

Consoles are st for FPS...PC is far superior...no question (Cyber atheletes still use PC for FPS games)

PC is rubbish for Sports sims etc, but that is changed by plugging in a controller.

Simply put...PC is adaptable....Console isn't. You'll buy the next gen console for £600 quid....I'll just update my PC for a fraction of that.

Now....the fecking game....talk about it!

looks ok however the engine looks very simple considering developers are looking at the Unreal 3 engine for MMO's (APB, Huxley etc)

First Point: Wrong, I love FPS's and find the console experience much better, who cares what 'cyber athletes' use? Olympic athletes use top spec trainers, doesn't mean I need them to enjoy a run in the park does it?

Second Point: £600????????? Where are you getting these figures? My Xbox 360 cost £120 with 3 controllers and 2 games. the most I have ever spent on a console was £250 on launch day and it lasted me 4 years so £62.50 per year, I bet you spend more than that on a PC.

Really I pursued PC gaming for years and after 20 years of playing games realised that PC gaming was a frankly retarded concept and stopped bothering.

You what?

I think when I've been posting for well over a year it negates being a 'troll'. Secondly your sentences make no sense. Thirdly less players and lower framerate? don't make me laugh. Lastly you are clearly Digi's "Mr A Zealot", PC's owners are the new Amiga owners.

Back to the game, what I was wondering about was in most MMORPGs they are set in a land with no guns, but in this game it seems pretty obvious there will be guns so how are they going to stop it just turning into a giant deathmatch?

Or while wandering accross the wastelands what is to stop you just putting a sniper rifle round through someones head?

yes lower frame rates, consoles are normally capped at 30fps. Less people name 1 FPS on the 360 or PS3 that has more than 16 people playing. And yes lower graphics no DX10 support and consoles dont have the ability to keep up with the times. The 360 and PS3 were out of date the day they came out. So to all PC gaming st is a little silly, some people are quite happy to spend money on upgrading their PC.

I see this game working in the same way as planet side. It worked fine for the people who picked it up at the start but the new comers had the problem that all the other players were much harder to take down.

Battlefield Bad Company for a start. As well as CoD 4&5, they're just the 16+ multiplayer games i have in front of me now.

The difference between a console and a PC is that with a console you spend say £200 for the console and that console is garunteed to play all games made for it full stop, this means that games can be optimised of the consoles life so they keep improving. With a PC you spend say £1000 (?) and then you have to keep upgrading it to keep buying games for it, this is frankly a ridiculous system however you look at it.
I wouldn't buy a sofa and then want to keep upgrading it so that new freinds could sit on it. Or buy an oven that needed an upgrade everytime I wanted to cook a different meal.

Like I said, I tried PC gaming (over 10 years) and just realised the cost and frustration was lunacy.

No, you don't. If you upgraded now to whatever the best hardware was you wouldn't really need to upgrade again for a good few years, the only thing that would change is the level you set the graphics at as newer games come out over time.

Holy thread revival, thinking of getting a PC for this game and many others similar, what sort of specs would be good to last for a good few years before upgrading been looking at one which is like 3.1 ghz processor, 4 gb ram, 1tb hard disk, 9800 n vidia card, (512 mb) would this be good for gamaing?

Heeey... yeah...

What happened to Huxley?... The trailer for it was truly epic.

I have always struggled to get my head round the idea of FPSMMORPG's *gasp*, but that's because I was thinking of a Fallout type layout, tons of wide open areas... If there were more debris/buildings/cover then sniping becomes limited.

Seriously are you having a flash back to the 1990's? I never have to install new drivers or faff around with settings when playing new games on the PC.

PC gaming is much more diverse than console gaming, although I don't think it would be a great leap for platforms to interact with one another.

I think there was talk of EVE (Space MMORPG) on PC linking up with a console FPS based on the planets. Sort of a Planetside, that would be great.

I SO want this to happen. I know it never will, but a little development (especially with xbox and MS based pc's) and it could be awesome.
