Fight Night Round 4
Discussion
Ok, wasnt sure with the demo, bought the game after an hour was struggling with it and still not sure if i liked it , 7 hours later completly addicted an absoloute fantastic game , very addictive the detail is superb, loving the controls!
the one thing with this game is you need to give it time to get in to it but once you do it really is brilliant.
just my thoughts

The game is such an improvement on what was already a great game.
Previous FN's didn't require too much blocking - on this one its essential. took a bit of getting used too.
One area i am struggling with is delivering the follow up knockout blow - living behind the jab / counter at the moment.....

That's a fairly good sign that your 360 is going to give up the ghost.
The same happened to me when I bought Fight Night Round 3.
Id usually agree except its a brand new elite. The old xbox is at a mates though so I couldnt test it on that one.The same happened to me when I bought Fight Night Round 3.

I heard of people having issues whereby the game would freeze. This is apparently due to having custom music on your xbox and will keep happening until you delete it. I've heard of people disconnecting their network cable in order to stop any freezing too.
Obviously if your 360 isn't freezing it'll be another error altogether.

Got this the other day - love it so far
Bit that is annoying me is that my cut man only ever sems to get 20 odd points to play with at the break - where as the computer always has 40+ !! Even though i am landing loads of punches
Is there a really good way to earn loads of points ?

Keep playing in legacy mode until you get to greatest of all time and then retire. I think it's about 200 points.
The trick is, in the options you can play around with ref awareness and player damage etc.
I retired on 50wins all by 1st round knockout on pro difficulty. then again i was ali and i trained until everything was at 100. But when i retired it was 2019....

But even then playing last night knocked this guy down twice in one round - i got 67 points and he got 65 !!
then when i stunned him twice i got 28 and he got 40 !!! don't get it - is the computer just making it harder or something ?
It literally works on percentages.
You get 12 points for completing a round. Then it goes as follows
Land 0 - 40% and you receive 3 points.
Land over 40% and you receive 6 points
Land over 50% and you receive 9 points
Land over 60% and you receive 12 points
Land over 70% and you receive 15 points.
Stun an opponent and you get 5 points
Knock an opponent down and you receive 10 points
Get up after a knock down and you get 5 points.
You're just not being accurate enough.
Oh and you also need to make the guy miss his punches. If you make him miss alot you'll also receive more points.
I'm playing on G.O.A.T setting and I'm currently on 55(50)-0-0 aged 46.
I keep getting e-mails telling me to retire but so far they have been ignored!

Also, sometimes the computer doesn't use points after a round. So at the end of the next round the computer's total is actually for two rounds, not just the last round boxed.
Damn, beaten to it.

OK cool that makes more sense... anyway to increase accuracy ? I tend to throw a lot of punches and my hit % is something like 50 which is woeful !You get 12 points for completing a round. Then it goes as follows

Don't try to throw big punches as they'll see them coming so throw a jab or two out. When you start connecting and keeping your opponent at bay, they'll try and slip your jab and land a big punch on you so start utilising the uppercuts.
Just keep them missing and keep countering them with flurries until they're tired/hurt enough for you to finish them with some bombs.
