CoD Hackers are ruining our enjoyment

News > Urgent Title Update
Over the last week, we've received a number of reports from the community regarding issues that range from matchmaking difficulties to strange Nazi Zombie co-op behavior. These incidents have been caused by some users who are hacking their consoles and ultimately damaging the online experience of their fellow gamers. This is not isolated to Call of Duty - incidents of similar hacks have been reported across several titles.
We and our 1st party partners have been working diligently on countermeasures to these security breaches, and these will be going live in a Title Update early next week.
Important note: As a result of accelerating the release of this Title Update, users will see menu changes that were not intended to go live until the release of Map Pack 3. In short, you will see the Map Pack 3 levels in Private Match, Split Screen, & System Link. When you select these maps, you will be brought to the Marketplace blade to download them; however, they will not be available until they are released in August. This is only temporary, and you will be able to download the maps as soon as they are released.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support, and we look forward to seeing you on the new maps next month.

Usually hacking on FPS games means being able to automatically target people's heads, see the enemy through walls, make weapons 100% accurate over any range and so on, for the sole purpose of annoying the hell out of other players. The downside of this is any player these days that is actually good at playing the game gets called an aimbotting wallhacker...

yup, those players truely wreck the experience for everyone. yet i'm sure they boast about how good they are.but those who just do it to ruin things for others, just think how sad their lives must be...

Had some dodgy occurances on COD4 recently, flying enemies on wet work and a bloke who could change teams freely. The team-changing bloke would join our team to see where we were, throw a grenade at one of us, then swap back to the other team so the grenade would explode, kill one of us and he would get the points.

I get called a hacker in TF2 since I can go some rounds with 50 kills and no deaths as a Pyro
Ah the infamous w + mouse1 cheat

We had a speedhacker playing heavy that was as fast as an admin with noclip on our TF2 server at one point and god was that annoying...
I have to say I'd be suspcious if any pyro could get 50 kills with no deaths unless he was camping a defensive area. I never call hacker unless I'm actually sure after spec'ing them and then I will probably perma ban them from the server.

wall hacks and aim bots have been popular traditionally but even I've encountered people using lag switches:

really annoying because there's little to nothing to detect the use of things like that

TBH, it doesn't bother me. You soon realise who is cheating and who isn't and then you just don't bother respecting their score.
You've obviously not been in a game with a hardcore cheater who is wiping out everyone repeatedly. If they're on your team, you get no kills, if they're on the enemy team, you end up dying all the time.ShadownINja said:

But if you play with an aimbot then you get creamed every 15 seconds or so as they just run around killing everything and everyone in seconds.I HATE cheats. Personally, I'd advocate uploading a virus which destroys their machine.
