I'm prepared to go on the record to say that GT5 won't be anything special. Yes it will look nice, and have loads of cars etc, but it's PD's first foray into online gaming - AI is only so good, the real skill comes in racing against other human beings.
The PS3's online infrastructure is iffy at best, as there is no central hub for you to sign into. Remember the MGS4 beta, where everyone had to get a Konami ID in addition to their PSN login? It's a farce.
FM3 is going to completely hammer GT5 with the online experience. Yes there are only 8 cars as opposed to 16 for GT5 but T10 have got a lot more experience in making those 8 cars go round a track in sync than PD have.
I honestly believe that GT5 will be just another sim racer, rather than one that keeps people coming back again like FM2 (and hopefully FM3)

Do the PS3 controllers have paddles like on the 360, or are they just on/off like on the PS2? I can't see how car games on the PS3 can be any good unless you can modulate the throttle.
The PS2 controller had two analog sticks, and the buttons were analog

First time I've seen you post without a picture of your imported Nissan.

Back on topic, all the buttons on the DS2 are analog, the d-pad, the paddles and the square triangle, circle and X buttons. They did require a delicate touch though as there is not much play between zero input and full input.

MGS4 is the only game I have had which you needed to do this. Have you actually used a PS3 or get your info from XBox sites?Tycho said:
