aaaaargh!! ps3 wont sign into the playstation network.....

over the last week or so my ps3 has been refusing to sign into the playstation network, is anyone else having the same trouble? just keeps showing the "an error has occured you have been signed out of the playstation network" immediately on start up and just wont connect from there on in, it really is getting annoying...

Once on Monday it said "PSN is down for maintenance for the time being" or something along those lines.

Is the PS3 connected via ethernet? If not, give this a go first.

I couldnt stay connected for more than couple of mins last night. I got down to 73rd place on a time trial in GT5P but it wouldnt upload it. BUGGER

its weird as it was fine upto last week and was siging in fine via the auto sign in option but is now just refusing to sign in at all, i ve tried everything including swapping the ethernet inputs and resetting the router etc but no joy.

Have you checked to see if it needs an update?

Sometime this prevents you logging on.

i dont think its an update issue, and i certainly dont think ive been banned! i didnt even think you could be!?

Yeah you can be banned. For account sharing, game sharing on psn.. or just being abusive over the mic if you have one. Cheating..
