Not again!...help please.

Hi, i went to turn my ps3 on today to download a few things but when ever i turned it on it just came up with invalid format on the T.V, the ps3 is only a few weeks old as my old ps3 fking broke aswell . Can anyone help,

Try pressing and holding down over the power button if held down for a number of seconds it restarts and goes back to default values.

E.g. if you set the wrong resolution, or changed from hdmi to normal tv leads.

Ok thanks, and nope nothings been changed.

[edit] Just to say i held the button down got to the output settings and every time i select HDMI (1080p, 1080i and 5something) it just flashes up with 'invalid format', is this one fked aswell?

Are the HDMI cables in properly. Stupid question but my PS3 did similar to me. It turns out I had pulled the cable out slightly not enough to totally disconnect it but enough to make it say invalid format or equivalent.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but you've just solved a problem i was having.

My daughter was holding down the power button on the machine and I couldn't figure out how everytime i switched it on i had to re-configure the video settings.
