Has anyone got this running yet? The Sky site seems to be borked, when I try and log in to set it up the site tells me the authentication system is not available.

It is a technical issue that should be sorted tomorrow.

We have had it in work for the last month or so and it is very good. The interface is good but the party mode is a bit of a gimmick.

The PS3 one should be out in May next year I have been told.

With the Sky Player hitting the UK today, Microsoft and Sky today released the price plan for their service and to say the pricing is a little inflated is a bit of an understatement.

Check out all the plans/pricing/channel listing below. Then to see how absurd they are, head on over to see the original Sky price plans here. My personal favourite, for the top package on the Xbox, you can go to Sky, pay £7 more and get free broadband, free phone, Sky HD and a crapload more channels. Just saying.

Oh, and you need to be an Xbox Live Gold Member as well. Hey, if you have Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband, at least you can get it free.

The Subscription Plan and Channel Listing Breakdown
Non– Sky TV customers will require a monthly subscription which starts at £15 per month to Sky Player’s Base Entertainment Pack, customers who want watch Sky Sports 1, 2, 3, ESPN and Sky Movie channels will be able to add these channels to their Base Entertainment Pack for an additional cost. In addition to the live channels, customers will also have access to on-demand programmes from channels they subscribe to.

Customers with Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband Unlimited subscriptions are additionally able to access live channels for no extra charge. Customers who do not have subscriptions to Sky Broadband Unlimited or Sky Multiroom are still able to access the live channels by taking an online Sky Player multiroom subscription for £5 per month.

£15 a month for the most basic package, I believe. I'm tempted to give it a whirl for a few months, since there (thankfully) doesn't appear to be a minimum subscription limit.

We have a sky+ box and sky multiroom in another room, so I take it I will be able to set this up for free on my xbox?
I wonder if we'll be able to download movies to HDD if the buffering isn't up to the job, but we get a decent connect rate (about 7mbps consistent) and "unlimited" bandwidth so should be ok, Shall have a whirl tomorrow smile

Does that £15 package include BBC 1,2,3, ITV, C4, Channel 5 as standard, with all those other channels as well? Or does it only have the channels listed there?

Yeah, that would be interesting to know ... If so, I'll most likely sign up! Shame there are no Dave or Discovery channels frown I suppose they may expand the channel selection if it turns out to be a success.

Hmmm I could be tempted by that if there is no minimum contract period...
Shall have a look into it!

I very much doubt it'll include the BBC channels at least frown That'll be why there's no Dave etc.

£15 a month, too much IMO. Plus there are things which they won't stream, like football and boxing.
