Right, seeing as how the Computer Games section of the forum appears to have been taken over by Forza fans in the last week or so, I thought I'd start the trend towards what is pretty much the most eagerly anticipated game of the year.
Yes readers, it's COD6 MW2 in just over a weeks time and yes, I am aware there are other threads that have been started about it before, but I don't care and seeing as how Forza seems to have set a trend with a different thread for each random thought about the game I don't see why this game shouldn't, what with the amount of PH players!
So, I'll start the ball rolling by admitting I've actually booked the day off work for this, the first time I've ever done that for a game! After getting into COD4 late on, I'm really looking forward to this.
Although, I'm not going to go into town at midnight to get my copy (well, not at the minute I'm not anyway!)
Anyone else getting geared up to shoot more terrorists??

GT5? thats been delayed plent of times, wasnt it supposed to come out the same time the ps3 did?T5SOR, I nearly had the best deal on a PS3 ever. HMV accidentally sent me a 250GB PS3 Slim instead of GH5. PS3 for £75.
Really looking forward to this, I hope it's not another let down, I can't take any more dissapointment.
If it's as badly made as Operation Flashpoint or as boring as Forza 3 then I may just have to give up gaming.

Start with the single player or just jump straight online?
Single player adds nothing but you know the servers/multiplayer will be a bit patchy for a few days to start with as all games are.

I have pre-ordered a copy for collection at midnight, although I wouldn't be surprised if the online pre-orders that a lot of people have done arrive a day early. I'm trying to hit 60k kills on COD4 before MW2, then I will be on it solidly for a few weeks.
I hope the maps aren't overly complicated, although I suppose it won't be too bad if that means I can equip a silencer and UAV jammer and sneak around the back of the enemy team.
Anyone know the figures on pre-orders? I imagine there has been a fair few?

I've played CoD4 on all of the current consoles inc. PC and I personally thought the PC game had the best experience, with the large community and various mods, and now that they're taking the mod aspect out of CoD6 I feel that it isn't going to be even half of the game it used to be.
I'm not sure whether to buy it for the console. The whole console FPS idea doesn't suit me too well.

You see thats weird, I've never understood the apeal of games on the PC, I tried a few of them and using the keyboard as a controler feels soo unatural, I tried using a normal pad and it was still pants. Now of course my PC is out of date and would struggle. I wish I could get on with it games being cheaper n all but ho hum nevermind.Really cant wait for MW2, it looks ace and I do really love shooting folks online, especialy those from across the pond. I hope the single player is a bit longer though, on the second run through of COD 4 I realised just how short the game is once you know all the missions.
Oh and does anybody know if that heart beat monitor that goes on your gun can be used online?

Yep the heartbeat monitor will be a weapons perk.
I shall be at Game in broadmead, bristol at midnight next monday with 4 or 5 mates to collect our pre-orders. I ditched the special edition 360 order to spend the money on the car instead, so just the game for me. now.......I will be mostly playing the campaign and the spec ops mode
oh, and I've taken the tues and weds off.

Perhaps it's a legacy, I always find that FPS's still work best for me on the PC, but then I spent most of my teen years with quake, quake 2, halflife, UT etc. I just find console controllers aren't precise enough.Really cant wait for MW2, it looks ace and I do really love shooting folks online, especialy those from across the pond. Racing games and the ilk I prefer on the Xbox.

saying that I have been playing Borderlands on the Xbox recently and I am quite enjoying it.
Strategy games on a console is blasphemy!

not an entirely new gfx engine as I understand it, but a heavily reworked one. Either way it looks very pretty in the trailer and with all the new stuff well worthy of getting excited about, I certainly am I really enjoyed COD4 so this does appeal
Started playing COD4 again to get a feel for the game as it's been a long time since I played, I *almost* forgot how good it is, and darn addictive.
