Wii info please

Ok bear with me, i know little about wii.
I have bought a wii bundle for an xmas present, its got sports and sports resort, and i bought an accesories pack and wii motion plus things.
So main question is i obviously need to buy a 2nd remote, but do i need to buy a 2nd nunchuk thing or does the motion plus do away with the need for it?
Also looking for a couple more games - i'm thinking mario kart (have seen it with free wheel) any other reccomendations? one point, needs to be easy fun games nothing too complicated.

Definately more nunchuks & wiimotes needed. Boom Blox is a good one for muliplayer fun, M&S Winter Olympics looks good too.
ETA, the nunchuk has extra buttons which some games utilise, it has no motion sensor in it. The WiiMotion add-on is purely to improve the input actions you make with the actual Wiimote.

If you buy WiiPlay (a fun mini-game type game), you should get an extra controller included with it. Wario Party is also a fun game (also mini-game based and can be played with quite a few people), although i'm not sure about the need for a nunchuck if you have WiiMotion. I would imagine it would still be required for some games.

I don't want dissapointment on xmas day because i've forgot to buy something!
So checklist;
so far have - Consol, 1x wii remote & nunchuck, 2x motion plus things and twin charger, wii sports, wii sports resort, accessory pack (includes wheel, tennis racket etc)
Going to buy - 2nd remote & nunchuck, mario kart (with wheel) wii play (with remote inc)
So will have 2 wheels, 2 remotes, 2 nunchucks, 2 motion plus, and other accessories in pack above. Plus an empty flippin wallet!
Anything else crucial so the funs not affected on Xmas day
I don't want dissapointment on xmas day because i've forgot to buy something!

if you buy that lot i make it 3 remotes... as you say your going to buy an extra one AND Wii play... wii play comes with a remote inc.... Mario party is a good fun game. only game i play on ours tbh.. as i dont have mario kart as she just wouldnt 'get it'I don't want dissapointment on xmas day because i've forgot to buy something!

I'd say get a light gun game like House of the Dead or some such.
We have Raymans Raving Rabbids and that's a great party game. You need 4 remotes for that really as the more people you have involved the better it is. The best part of the game is actually watching the people playing it though. Any spectators will be in fits of laughter.
As for the Nunchucks. Boxing on Wii Sports is brilliant, a great workout and a good multiplayer game... well worth getting.

Just realised i haven't a clue how they are powered! Are they like PS3 - ie are they rechargable controllers via system or do they work on AA type batteries?
If it's batteries is their like a rechargeable pack to buy?
This is costing a bl00dy fortune!

its nearly £60 for a controller and nunchuck AND now they want to do you for a motion plus!!
i've now just got rid of mine... its going to a niece of my GF. ill have to make do with PC/xbox and PS3
the price of the controllers is what is stopping me buying one at the moment - £52 for a controller is galling to say the least!
I have found some cheaper on DealExtreme but they aren't official and won't necessarily be here in time for Christmas
It looks like there are a couple of deals around in shops that give you extra controllers and nunchucks reasonably cheaply though, so I think I'm going to investigate that option!

The PS3 is definitely a better thought out piece of hardware on some levels. The PS3 Sixaxis controllers charge off the PS3 as standard, by a standard USB cable. To charge the Wiimotes off the console you need to get a custom stand and batteries. Which is a joke. And I'm not sure that any of those that I've seen can handle charging a Wiimote with its rubberised jacket on.
Glad we've got both consoles though - Wii Fit Plus is great fun (I've got aching calfs from the Segway game), but I'm happy having the PS3 for HiDef video playback, iPlayer and some cracking games.
Just been going through the exact same process as you bigdavy so thanks for posting this. Agree with everything you and others say about the cost of bits for this system. Seems very mean to only supply one controller/nunchuck wotsit with the console. Our 14-yr-old wants the Wii so that we'll play with him but I'm not sure he won't regret selling his Xbox360 to make way for it… I've been struggling to find decent games for the Wii that I'd actually want to play, not into all these Mario/platform things, takes me back to the old Sega/Sonic era, seems retro in a bad way.
Anyway, on the subject of recharge devices, and responding to the last post, I found this device just out on play.com which gets round the aggro of having to take off the skins when recharging the Wiimotes:

Again, hardly cheap at £34.99, and it only does two remotes at a time, but it's 'connectionless' (the remotes sit in some kind of an electrical field) and the charger switches itself off after 6 hours to prevent damage. I've bought one, hasn't arrived yet, like you bigdavy I'm worried about it all being 'right on the night', think I might have to get it all out and wired up when I'm on my own just to check it's all OK...
