So I'd like to keep the FM3 setups a close to the real SCCA rules as possible. Here's a quick link I found (not sure if it's the latest or not but should work as a starting point). http://www.specmiata.com/specifications.htm

Here are the specs for FM3. Obviously you start with the first gen MX5 miata and work from there.

Air Intake - Panel Filter allowed (Street Intake) - EDIT: Because it's the 1.8l, you can only use the panel filter
Intake Manifold - No mods allowed
Ignition - Spark Plugs allowed (Street Ignition)
Fuel System - No mods allowed
Exhaust - RACE exhaust
Cams - No mods allowed
Valves - No mods allowed
Engine Block - No mods allowed
Pistons - No mods allowed
Cooling - Street Radiator allowed
Flywheel - No mods allowed

Transmission - Short shifter allowed (Street)
Clutch - Street
Rear Diff - No mods allowed

Brakes - Street (pads and fluid)
Suspension - Race (for maximum tunability)
Front anti roll bar - Race
Rear anti roll bar - Race
Chassis Bracing - Full Roll Cage
Weight Reduction - Full

Wheel Diameter (front and rear) = 15"
Max tire width (front and rear) = 205/50r15
Wheel style = Any
Tire Compount = Sport

Body mods - Say none to keep it simple?

Engine Swaps - no
Induction swaps - no
Drivetrain swaps - no

the car should come out at around D348 depending on what wheels you chose

Me!

I was planning on building a Miata up anyway, but perhaps not for racing wink

I take it this is going to be a case of "Planned Car for Random Races"?

That would be pretty cool if you can put the paint job you had on your real car on that car yes

Is there an "On the Web do it on the PC" design editor? It's just doing what I want on the xbox seems quite hard. (Just had a go and failed miserably.)

There isn't unfortunatly. If you post a pic up of what you want to do I can have a bash at making it for you?

It's the car in my profile pic.
The problem I had was I could apply a "big red square" to the roof, and could have gone on to do the sides, but how do I get it to fit the panel lines? Of course the answer may be that you do not!

edit: oops wayyyy off topic.

Ah yes see it now, to carry on the red roof to the sides you have to apply decals to the left/right side of the car and just fidle about with them (size, spin etc) untill they fit the body lines.

Yeah as Richard S said, you have to try and find shapes that kinda fit, then fiddle around with them. Use semi circles and play with the size and skew to change the curves. Using "stamp" keeps the same shape you just used and allows you to place it again and again saving time. It still might take a while though.
