MW2 - Can people cheat?

I am not (I hope) being a sore loser here, but it seems to be that some fellows are nearly bulletproof, and have the skills of mystic meg.
Today, I shot someone in the back with the scar, then knifed him, Twice, before he died. That is not possible surely?
That same player was targeted by myself and my mate (we were on headphones), we each took a side and shot him, I put nearly half a clip into his body, my mate reckons he put in nearly the same (this was as the player walked down the middle of the street). Whilst we were shooting, said player then turned and shot me dead with one shot, then turned and shot my mate dead.
Then, yesterday, I am sniping, I am invisible to all intents and purposes. I have Cold Blooded and Ninja, I have a silenced gun. I am on Wasteland, I am hiding in the grass. I haven't moved for about 20 seconds or so. Someone creeps over a hill about the max range of my rifle, I can only just see him. I spent about two seconds just waiting for him to get large enough to take a shot at him, in the meantime he has killed me, with an assault rifle. On the deathcam, you can only just see the grass I am hiding in, you cannot see me at all. So how the hell can he spot and shoot me with his gun when I can only just see him with a sniper rifle and I am hidden in grass? I mean, he didn't hesitate for a moment either, he just appeared, aimed and fired and I was dead.

This happens to me alot. I gets me so worked up.
They could be using painkiller? which is more health. But even so, it sometimes seem to be more than that.
When you looked at the deathcam, was he using thermal sights? Either that or he could have a heartbeat sensor so he knows where to find you?

When sniping I am invisible to both Thermal and Hearbeat. Plus the heartbeat was no use at that point, he wasn't on mine at that range !! But no, he was not using a thermal camera (actually, I see very few people using it).Lag switches can be used by people who really, really suck.
I know what you mean, I shot 3/4 of a clip into a guy with an AA-12 with FMJ and he killed me before the clip finished.
Cursing aside, it is probably connection issues, meaning that what is happening on your screen is not representative of what the servers are receiving.

If it's a stand off between two to three people and you feel as though you put enough bullets into him to kill him, then it's 99% going to be lag.
There are 'cheats' on this game at the moment, I know a couple of them, such as standing in walls, getting under maps but unless your talking about PC, there aren't aimbots etc... yet.
There are then 'boosters', people who arrange matches and take it in turns to capture a flag so they constantly get points. One of them being CodeMajic who is 10th prestige already.

What ^^^^ said, probably a lot of lag.
I reported a guy for stat padding the other day. Him and a mate were standing out of the way hiding outside in the terminal map and one guy was just shooting the other who was using tactical spawn to respawn in the same place to get shot again. Now usually I wouldn't care if they were in a 1v1 but the t
t was in a TDM game and getting killstreak rewards and nuked the other team in the emd which is out of order. If it had been on hardcore then I wouldn't have hesitated to team kill.

You can do a similar thing in Halo 3 where you change your xbox language settings to some obscrure language, then search for a Free-For-All game and prioritise 'same language'. This will then put you in a game with loads of people all there for the same reason, so you help each other get achievements. Not sure if the 'launguage' option would help people find each other in MW2?Also, slightly OT, people get in groups of 6, two parties of 3, and both search for Team Tactical until they are with eachother and get Domination - no time limit, nobody catches the flags. Oh, and you can also get modified controls which add rapid fire for 'single tap' guns, like pistols and revolvers etc.

The game was hacked within 4 hours,yes there are aimbots,check youtube,but i think the modded controller thing has been addressed,if somebody use's a lag switch or modded controller there kicked and it migrates the host.
Theres compliants of the "NINJA" perk being bugged and not working,people still finding you whilst using the heartbeat sensor on the infintyward forums.
The infinityward forums are bursting with complaints,each to there own but ive played them all to death since cod2 and this game is not an improvment(except for host migration),infinityward openly admit they dumbed it down to get more players (money) in.

That's interesting, becuase I saw myself on a hearbeat sensor on kill cam the other day and thought that can't be right, because I have Ninja on ALL my settings..

Usually I put it down to lag as it can work both ways, I've had games were I can unload a clip at someone and nothing happens and I get virtually no kills.... then I'll have a game were I can walk round the map with a pistol killing people with impunity as they fire entire LMG ammo drums at me. You can usually tell if it's lag as the KillCam will be jumpy.
I have come a couple of opponents though that have taken 15-20 rounds from a SCAR and not died, then in the KillCam it has shown that they were all hits before they casually popped me, these guys must be cheating somehow.

I've seen some damn good playing on killcams and have been in awe of some of it, but there are moments that cross the line into "that simply cant be possible" and they arent THAT uncommon. Perhaps 3 or 4 of them on an evening playing.
Generally I've put it down to luck when stuff like this happens, or lag in many cases. I don't know if you've ever noticed the "host" advantage when you get to host the games but it can be remarkable.
That said, I've pulled off some ungodly shots on MW2, some through intuition and some just through blind luck, so the luck can work both ways. I've yet to see blatant cheating on ps3 or Xbox.

it upsets me so much.. i wish they kept the local host thing from COD5.. it was such a breath of fresh air not getting much lag and not having the annoying yanks ruining it!! (i know it was a minority and most yanks are good guys)
i've lost count the number of times ive backed off to hide and died, then watched the kill cam and due to lag ive still been way out in the open!
