Forza 3: Another newbie question

When upgrading, is using the ‘quick upgrade’ option the best and easiest way for the most balanced result?

Or would you recommend to ‘pick & mix’?

Not the best but its good enough to win races in career if youre reasonable.

Usually best to do something along the lines of tyres, weight, cage and transmission/suspension mods.

My rules for upgrades are currently.

A)convert to AWD if possible. (AWD seems to give a stupid level of performance increase compared to the PI index change)
B)Fit fully adjustable suspension.
C)Reduce weight.
D)Upgrade tyres.
E)Add power.

I've tried the Forzatrader set up tool already on a standard GT3 RS and it does change the car’s handling quite drastically. The GT3 RS now handles very neutral.

I was wondering if I should start upgrading the cars the way you would in real life, i.e start from the tyres and move on from there but obviously not!

It comes down to preference really, I always upgrade the tyres on a car as one of the first things I do.

Yes the only one that troubled me was when I made my ISF thing class A on auto upgrade and despite driving the wheels of it could only get 2nd.

I bought an RS200 deciding it must be the car not me and won with ease.

I tend to leave my cars on stock rubber usually. The tyres it comes with are better than the sports IMHO. Only move up when I have trouble controlling it and it goes up to Race.

I always do weight reduction and brakes first.

Then some tyres and power depending on how the car is behaving. If it's American, all tyres, no power. If it's from anywhere else, it depends.

ETA: While the 'quick upgrade' works, it's not nearly as fun as doing it yourself, even if you screw it up. Then again, horses for courses and all that.
