F1 Simulator

Hello, first time posting in this section so please be gentle.
I'm after a Formula One simulator for the PC, judging by the evidence of youtube and google GP4italia looks brilliant however the site is in Italian which unfortunately is beyond my linguistic abilities.

The main things I'm looking for from a sim is;

Historic cars, drivers and tracks, specifically from the late 80s/early 90s

Realistic renderings of the circuits

and finally realistic physics.

Any guidance you can give would be much appreciated.

p.s. I am a complete computer 'tard by the way

I would suggest that you look primarily at rFactor for those requirements.

RFactor is probably the most versatile sim in that it has a lot of mods (modifications) that are free to download and will give you new cars and tracks. Most of these are 3rd party so the quality can vary quite a lot but some of them are superb.

It's also a very realistic sim, rFactor Pro, was used by Massa during his recovery and is used by many F1 teams.

This is the rFactor website, I think you can download the whole sim but it's a limited demo until it's registered. The demo does include a Sauber F1 but I think it's a 2007 model.

You will also be needing a wheel, have a look at the Logitech G25 and G27.

I'd look at the CTDP or MMG team mods for starters.
