Got a PS3 and a few questions (video converting, streaming)

Hello all,

The wife got me a PS3 yesterday (to go with the Xbox360 and Wii!) and wnat to use the PS3 as my main media console, so the questions are:

1. What is the best program to convert videos to PS3 format (I am using a Macbook pro)?
2. What is the best way to stream video, music etc to the PS3 from my macbook pro (what about medialink?)?

If it'll work on Mac, PS3 Media Server is the way to go. Transcodes pretty much all formats, works beautifully.

For 720p video on the PS3 I use something like these settings:

• Movie to MPEG-4
• Options:

Video:

• H.264
• Data Rate: 12000 kbits/sec
• Optimized for CD/DVD-ROM
• Image Size: 1280 x 720HD
• Frame Rate: Current
• Key Frame: Automatic

• Video Options: Best Quality (Multi-Pass)

Audio:

• AAc_LC (Music)
• Data Rate: 128 kps
• Channels: Stereo
• Output Sample Rate: 44.1 KHz
