Forza makes Xbox noisy?

Just started playing Forza 3 which my lovely wife bought me for Xmas. Interestingly the Xbox seems to run much noisier than with other games. Is this normal? It doesn't seem overly hot. It's one of the very first ones. Should I expect a RROD imminently?

hey mate,
i also had this problem when my copy was working,
mines the new 60gb premium so its probably just the game

It's a big game that pulls alot from the Xbox to get it working.

To reduce the noise, install the game. You still need to put in the disk, but the xbox goes almost silent.

Nice one, thanks. How do I install the game? It asked for disk 2 when I first ran it - is there a way of copying disk 1 onto the HDD?

when on the game screen in the xbox live page, press yellow and it will say "copy to hard drive"

Hi,
I got an Elite for Christmas ( checked it's a new Jasper one ).. the 1st thing I tried was Forza and was also alarmed at the noise it was making , esp after reading how quiet the new ones were.. thanks for posting this up ,will try installing as your instructions.
Just to clarify.. as well as the fan noise mine makes a noise almost like a rattle as the disc spins ( also tried the machine standing up and lying down , made no difference and checked the disc wasnt getting marked).. is this the noise you guys experience? It still makes it with other games when loading.

My Xbox I got for christmas makes similar sounds. Its surprisngly loud to me, I mean my PS2 is quieter, and my PC is quieter. After installing the game to the HDD it gets quieter.
They feel very cheap to me too, doesn't feel very well made/solid.

Mine doesn't rattle, it does wheeze a little occasionally but that's it.

I do have a sub connected to the telly and a liking for V8s though..
