Assassins Creed and Locked Save Game files!!! PS3

What!!

Why on earth is the Assassins Creed 2 game saved data file locked. I have almost 30 hours on this game now. I wanted to backup the saved game to a USB stick in case the worst happens and I don't have to start again, but it's locked.

What were they thinking, I can back up my saved game files for any of my other games except AC2.

Madness.

Oh, and the reason I went to back it up was at one point the game froze. I restarted the PS3 and it was all fine, but if the save game data had been corrupted and I didn't have a backup...

Command and Conquer is the same, i found a way though.

Get a external HDD and do a backup of the utility (In the options menu somewhere).

This will copy everything..... I do mine every now and again, its pretty good cos you get a backup of everything.

I did this, backed it up to my WD Passport. It took almost an hour though, which is a joke considering I only really wanted to backup a few MB file.

They really need to patch the OS to disallow developers locking save game files.

On the other hand, people are asking Infinity Ward to lock the save files due to people using hacks on them to allow glitching etc so you can't have it all the time. There should be a way to upload the saves to the net as bandwidth isn't really an issue these days.
