I downloaded it, started the game, and am now in another download screen. Apprently its trying to 'receive updates' that are 1829MB, and after 15 minutes, i'm on 41MB. I reckon this could be a few hours...

Never heard of it... (does some digging)... Not looking forward to 30 min wait times to get into a match but...

Downloading it now - the lure of 256 player carnage is too great to ignore! If it plays well and lives up to the hype it'll be a day one purchase!!

I've just passed the 115mb mark, only been on for about ten mins... How fast is your BB??

Not impressed, got to something like 1600mb downloaded, router needed a restart to change some settings and now the PS3 signs into PSN ok, but the MAG download just constantly says "Unable to establish a connection to the server at this time. Press OK to try again." and that's it.

Edited - Yay, going again... hadn't got as much as I thought tho, up to 1390mb now.

The server must be getting absolutely hammered. I'm about an hour in and at 74%. Has anyone managed to actually play this yet, or could we all be wasting hours of our time here?

I got in on earlier beta...grabbed the 1.8gb d/l, played it for a bit, then had to go out, left it 'til the next day. They updated it again... ANOTHER 1.8gb download. So I didn't bother.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of online shooters, but I have to say that this is fantastic. I'm really enjoying this. Huge maps, good variation of styles of play.

Well, had some decent enough games of it just there - even so far as to complete a final objective (and shoot up two levels in the process!)

It's a fun little shooter, reminds me of BF2 - I think I'll buy it when it comes out *if* the servers are upgraded to handle it, but I guess that's the point of a beta - stress testing...

Reminds me of Battlefield, seems OK so far, have had more kills than deaths which is more than I can say for my MW2 record .

Still prefer the graphics and gameplay of MW2 though.

i've been playing the private Beta for months now.
doesn't take half hour to get into a game at all.
the maps are epic. the action is epic. the loadouts can be varied a fair amount and you cna change factions to get different stuff.

it really will rock the gaming world when it comes out properly i reckon.

it is downloading on mine now. 5 minutes in and 108 mb done. So shouldn't be much more than an hour.

Really looking forward to it. Of course the graphics and things aren't perfect yet. Hence beta testing.

Should be level 70 on cod by the time this comes out quite easily so will trade it in.

I downloaded it yesterday evening but when I tried to get into games (around 10pm) it kept booting me out. I'll give it another whirl tonight.

Also, has anyone noticed that their friends list info has changed slightly since downloading this beta? When I sign in now my friends have their name listed but other information (such as time since last sign on and avatar) is missing. Anyone else get this or is it just me?

yeah funky mine was doing that. But not for people that were online or had been online within a couple of hours or so. Just people that had been offline for a few hours. Strange

Agreed, I found that quote on the PSN forums, it put me off a little but when the servers were up, it was only taking 5 mins max to get into a 64 player server. Not bad at all

I had no problem with this last night, but this afternoon the servers seem to be very flakey. It took about 10 minutes and numerous attempts to get into the game to select the mission I wanted (kept getting an error message), had one game that ended due to a 5:5 error, and am now sitting waiting to get into a new game and it is taking an age. I guess this is the point of the beta, but it is a bit of a pain.
