Double XP?
I has also not heard they were doing a double xp on COD, but if they are...I will be there.
I'm staying at 70, don't want to ignite the 'prestige' debate or anything, but I am quite content being the last '5 star' in the game in a year or so....badges don't really bother me - more game enjoyment.

is prestige starting the ranks again but for different badges? A few of my mates seem to have started again after getting to 70
ETA: just been looking at this, http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Titles#Titles to unlock some badges and emblems it says you have to prestige twice etc. I dont understand this prestige malarkey

Prestige wasn't about kudos for me but keeping things fresh. I got to level 70, but found myself sticking to the same old combos of perks and weapons and it was starting to bore me, yet i didn't want to change class because i was racking up loads of points every game...By doing prestige your forced to mix it up a bit, great fun, i've started using classes i didn't touch the first time round etc.

Do all the challenges get wiped when you prestige? Or just those that grant weapons/enhancements? Not sure I can face trying to get the crate killcam 10 times

Yeah challenges get wiped, you keep your little picture and symbol things though. I'm going to stay at level 70. I always liked how Milfmans symbol looked on cod4. The 5 silver stars. I stayed at level 55 on cod4 for ages, then went prestige when I got in drunk one night. 
Regretted it massively.
All the other prestige symbols look gay anyway. Plus that many people have used the hacked game save to get to 10th prestige already theres no point.

I debated about going prestige for a day or so. In the end i bit the bullet and at first i really wished i hadnt, now, after a days play i'm really glad i did as i'm systematically unlocking things for weapons i hardly used before and i to was finding myself using hte same weapons all the time. I'm not sure i'd go for it more than once though.

+1 in the last prestige i only used the Scar.Now i'm leaerning to use a variety of weapons!
I didn't prestige on MW and felt a bit of a prat after staying level 70 after a month or two I realised all the effort I had put in and it didn't show. So now I have prestiged and will continue to do so as soon as I can. Makes the game more interesting and gives you something to show for your effort even if it's only a 20 x 20 pixel badge

I can see your point, kind of. But if you wanted to mix it up, you can just choose to use different guns and derive the same challenge / fun without constantly gettin shreaded by air support while you are ranking up a la prestige. AR for example, I used SCAR for ages, now nearly fully ranked on SCAR, ACR, M16, M4 and just starting to unlock the FAL attachments. Thats out of choice, not because it will prestige me up.Cub911 said:

Then going to start properly on the FAL and m16.
Not going to bother with prestige, just had a look at the wiki link and theres not THAT many symbols etc that don't unlock without prestige.

That's just the thing, i was consistently getting 3-4 k in pointage on lvl 70, and swapping to a lesser used class would get me almost nothing in comparison, hence why i never did it. I was all about the points. Now I'm on prestige, it forces me to do it, and it's been great fun. I also not too much into the unlocks either, why unlock everything for the TAU or whatever it is when it's a a pile of

In COD4, I stayed on first/none prestige for ages, then decided to prestige and it made me look st because it was on 2nd prestige afters days and days of playing time. Wen I finished playing COD4 I was on 30 days 
I'm now just prestiging straight away. It's fun doing all the gun challenges again.

Totally agree. Didn't think twice about prestiging, and I was pretty damn good with the akimbo ranger! Missed it at first, but now I'm a pretty good knifer, and don't see me going back!
