Arrrggghh - Why am I so cr*p at Fifa 10?

Ok, for starters I've played many football games over the years, including lots of Fifa titles on the Ps2 and Xbox, but everytime I play an online game on the xbox I get my backside spanked!
Surely I can't be that bad, but the opposition always seem to be quicker (despite almost pushing RT through the controller), always seem to be able to pass quicker, and always manage to knock me off the ball, while I seem to run around chasing them across the pitch...

Am I just destined to be cannon fodder or can someone give me a couple of hints to at least give me a fighting chance!

just keep playing online. Practise practise practise. i always played pes rather than fifa until last year when I thought fifa finally got it right.

I could beat the computer on world class pretty easily but online got beat all the time.

I put the game down for a bit then picked it up and it just clicked one day. Not much help i know

Don't sprint all the time, be more controlled, and don't always look for the forwrd pass. Use LB to trigger runners and use the space. If you play as a decent team, pass as much as possible, and play the way your player is facing to keep possession.Use the right stick when recieving the ball to control the ball into space. And a dinked through ball can work a treat. When defending try not to drag players out of position, as it will leave space. Use the right stick when recieving the ball to play into space.

Just like in reality your first touch is crucial, like others have said use the right stick to control the ball away from your opposition this gives you more time on the ball to pass/run etc
