PS3 Headsets

Guys, I am looking for a Bluetooth PS3 headset, most people seem to recommend the official Sony Bluetooth one.

I know lots of Bluetooth sets work with the PS3 so what are you all using and any other recommendations ?

I use the handsfree kit for my phone, works fine

ETA: No extra expenditure on headsets aswell

careful.... i used my bluetooth hands free and got so much lag etc that i gave up and bought a usb one.

Yep I just use a normal Sony erricson one. About £12 in Tesco's I think. Really easy to set up. I think the offical one is quite sensitive too.

I use a Jabra 250V (I think). Works fine.

I use the cheapest sony ericsson they do. Been using it since the PS3's first came out and never had any issues with it.

I use some random one I got off ebay. Was about 7 quid. Works fine and charges by the USB port on the ps3. Wonderful.

Yep, got the official one as well, only about £16 delivered, took 2 mins to set up and it has a mute, and doesn't seem to suffer the terrible "rustle" noise that some people get..

How do you guys play with them in?

I'm finding it all rather odd playing a 40" screen anyway but i'm so use to

A) playing with a proper keyboard and mouse
B) having proper gaming headset cans so i can hear every detail

Surely having a single ear piece in means you get reduced hearing in one ear?

Wish there was an option to use keyboards and mice in MW2 and a proper way of plugging in headphones with mics

I have a headset with the 360 and dont find it annoying at all, you can still hear everything as normal.

Need to pick one up for the PS3, noticed Game has one in thats £20 but down to £15. Shall grab that and MAG on payday

Think thats my point using a ear peice means that which ever side you have it in will recieve less game sound so will distort how you hear people approaching your position.

Think the answer is to build a gaming rig and play MW2 et al on it and not expect the PS3 to handle fps as good as the trusty pc.

However i have played with the 360 set up and find it alot less intrusive

No im not

Just trying to get someone to say HEY have you tried this headset from... i.e. Razor etc that does what your current set up is doing for on the PC it gives you a set of cans and a attachable mic.

I'm not a console FPS gamer really but there are titles which are starting to become a good alternative to the PC.

why not get the official ps3 one, made for the console instead of messing around with ones from phones, least you know the ps3 one is built for the console and has to do the job

I don't think I understand your point. Normal game sounds come out of the normal speakers, so in my case approaching baddies can be heard coming from the correct direct through my surround sound speakers. Talking to other players is done through the headset.
