New 360 with old hard disk

Argos are selling their old Arcades off for £99 so bagged on yesterday. It means I can do away with the messy component cable and have a nice single HDMI.
Anyone knows what will happen to all my downloaded content. Arcade stuff and game addons ?
It appears that as long as I'm signed into xbox live with my usual account everything will work OK and I will not have to download everything again ?
If this is the case then its fine as I never take my machine anywhere.

Yup, that's exactly it - works a treat 
All downloads from Xbox Live & game add ons will be fine. The only thing that the 360 will moan about is if you've copied/installed any games to the HD on the old 360 - you'll have to delete them and reinstall them with the disk attached to the new 360.
...I did exactly the same thing back in the Summer when Argos had a deal on Arcade Jaspers.
