Yep, SA was very much a top contendor for best GTA game! So much to do, and customisation of everything!

To be honest, I didn't "get" San Andreas. It felt more like a copy made by a different company. Pedalling about on some crappy BMX and gaining/losing skills depending on how you exercised and what you eat was just a pain. Vice City, despite the much smaller play area, felt much more GTA like.

Close call, agree that the VC music was way better - but the scope of San Andreas wins every time for me - there's not a great deal you can't do - brilliant game smile

That.

Vice City was incredible.
As said, the soundtrack and the 'coolness' were worth it on their own! biggrin

Vice City for me as well, driving the Corvette flat out with this blaring out the radio sums it up perfectly, great game.

Vice City is the best GTA. Lots to do and use planes, boats, choppers, cars also I thought it was the best GTA for bike handling and of course the Radio stations. Even the talk show ones were ace.

If anyone at R* North has any sense they will make a successor to VC. I think they have flogged the hiphop generation gangsta to death now.

Having played them all, I think you could pick any one at random and be pretty pleased with the result.

as a game... yes VC and SA were better games BUT GTA IV multiplayer is superb and therefore has had much more gameplay out of me.

Another vote for Vice City,

Really enjoyed the property development/ownership on there

GTAIV however is "the best"... there's just so much more to do.

add a few friends in the Multiplayer and you can lose hours simply chasing and hunting each other... only problem with it is that stuff only seems to spawn near the host soapbox Has that been patched yet?

Personally I would start with GTA3 and then move ont GTA Vice City.

GTAIV was boring rubbish and Sna Andreas really requires you to play one of the two meentioned above to really appreciate it.

The map was huge....3 cities to visit....made use of the flying aspect really well.

Driving across the varyingg landscapes was awesome!!!
