I'm finding my MDF race seat a bit uncomfortable, it's currently padded with a cut up camping mat.

My budget isn't exactly big so I can't buy a proper seat so my options are:
- buy a cheap kart seat and bolt it to the MDF. Seen an OMP one for £35
- buy some of that two part expanding foam and make a moulded seat. £20 (if I don't cock it up!)

So what do you reckon?

I think I have a spare Cobra Monaco in the shed. Bit mucky, but it's yours if you want to come and buy me a pint.

That's a very kind offer, I see you're in Hampshire, don't mean to sound ungrateful but it might be a bit too far to come and get it.

I picked up a Honda CRX 16v mk2 seat for peanuts.

It's comfortable, reclines, looks sporty and if you sit in it long enough with a t-shirt off you get CRX printed on your back!

You might find a bucket seat will get uncomfortable in long sittings. Normal car seats are cheap, easy to find and comfy smile

Ooh.. I could be tempted to purchase one of those if you still have the 2nd one going spare?

I swapped some rear RCA bushes for my seat. The bushes were worth more than the seat too!

So, unfortunately just the one.

Ive got an early JDM Impreza WRX seat (the blue berber material from the 'Wagons, not the loud Saloon material). These can be bought quite cheaply as the passenger seats dont tend to be worn, even when the drivers seats are tatty.

I'm thinking that a full car seat might be too much. The cockpit I've built is designed to be folded down and can stand upright for storage. If I put a full seat in there then I won't be able to store it away. I'm thinking that an OMP Kart Seat is going to be best as I'll still be able to fold it away, plus it'll be lightweight.
