Just came across this bit of info http://www.bingegamer.net/2010/rumor-forza-motorsp... Ok it is just a rumour, but should be pretty great given the step up in quality between 2 & 3.
I guess the real question is: will it be out before a certain other racing game?

figures crossed they can up the number of cars on track my only gripe with the game is that 8 cars just isnt enough, le-mans just dosnt feel the same.

Also weather, night/day etc would be nice too...maybe rally stages as well

List of stuff I'd like in FM4:
open wheel cars like Atom and Caterham.
Dynamic weather
Day/night cycle
Other paint/vinyl finishes like matt and chrome.
the back of the car lit properly in the vinyl editor.
Interior colour choices like TDU.

"It may not seem like much of a shock to any of you, but loose talk has it that Microsoft and Turn 10 are either in pre-production or early development on Forza Motorsport 4.

In an email with the title “The most obvious news ever”, a source with intimate knowledge of the situation* has informed us that Microsoft and Turn 10 are actively hiring for the next installment of the wildly successful Forza Motorsport franchise. Considering Forza Motorsport 3 has sold over two million units since its release in October, news of another entry shouldn’t surprise anyone.

The source went on to say that while nothing is set in stone, people shouldn’t be surprised to hear some sort of “official” announcement in the next “several weeks.”

We’ve sent out emails to Microsoft in hopes of clarifying this rumor, though let’s face facts — “Microsoft does not comment on rumor or speculation” is probably the order of the day."

Can't help but wonder considering the time between FM2 and FM3 if;

a) This is being done as a purely financial thing as they made a fortune at the release of FM3 and sales have probably died off a little.

b) People are starting the air there dislike of spending big bucks on DLC's

c) They realised FM3 isn't quite as good a 'driving' game as FM2 was and they spent too much time making it too arcade / NFS like.

More cars on track!
The ability to create custom single-player races (create race formats the same way that you can in multi-player but select the other cars in the race from your own garage).

Fair enough they might be using it to generate some extra revenue but who would buy another installment given the up to date nature of their current car lineup. They'd have to provide something major for me to fork out £40 for another one so soon...

They could have provided the Nurbur Track in the last Car pack... but I agree they're clutching at straws if they think they can expect a majority of people to buy what's on offer at the moment... I bought the car packs as the ghost DLC car of FM2 annoyed me... Uninspired by the current car packs...

However... what do you mean about arcade-ness Carl?

I hope they make the computer AI a bit harder in the new one. If you've got good, highly tuned cars in each class, which I assume we all have, then you still win by miles. I'd like to see the computer driving highly tuned cars as well once you get into the harder competition like the semi pro or pro events, would make it more interesting.

Also less emphasis on the storefront and more on the racing, you should either win cars or get more money for winning an event so you can actually afford to buy cars in the game without having to be a pro at painting or tuning.

I'm quite certain the AI have all the assists on which is why, in the R# classes, they exit a corner so much better than I can.

It'd be nice if AI also had upgraded cars. And I've said it before, but blue flag rules would be nice.

Yes, don't know how many times I've been taken out in FM2 and 3 (all racing games infact) by a back marker when I come up to lap them, they just stick rigidly to the racing line whether you're there or not.

I did lose a race on New York (new circuit) where one of the back-markers had a catastrophic high-speed crash into a chicance and sat blocking the tracking, utterly broken. Cue me leading and hitting them at very high speed and completely destroying my car! Rewound and the only way to get past was to stop and literally push the other car out of the way. Cue all the other cars ploughing into the back of me in the process....

Anyway, yes, back-markers "move over!"

You've got the RS200 - what more do you want man!

(Okay - 6R4, Lancia S10, Audi Quattro Sport, Renault 5 Turbo (proper one with the engine where the shopping should be), Peugeot 205 T16)

(Oh, there is the Delta in there too! Or was that only ever Group A)

those are in F3 already and where a DLC on 2.

I want more Group 4 stuff. MKII escorts and Opel Mantas please. And maybe some one way stages similar to the special stages of yesteryear. Infact, Turn10 please make us a rallying game.
