Problems connecting to EA Nation on PS3

I don't generally play online, so never had cause to try to connect to EAN before.

I downloaded the demo of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 from the Playstation Store this afternoon, which was all fine. Went to start playing, the dialogue box appeared to say

'Connecting'...
'Connecting'...
'Connecting'...
'Failed to connect to EA Nation'

Tried a few more times, and got the same message each time, so I gave up and put NFS: Shift in. Halfway through what was going to be a blistering lap of the 'ring, I got a pop-up box at the bottom of the screen saying that I had disconnected from EA nation and needed to check my settings.

Still logged in to PSN, interweb is otherwise fine on PS3 and laptop...

Any ideas?

The Battlefield BC2 demo finished on the 25th Feb so no one can connect anymore.
It seems a strange way of promoting a game I must admit, running the demo for only 2-3 weeks.
The full game is out on 5th March and from the demo it's worth it, I've pre-ordered mine.
