You can repair it. I repaired mine I think the parts cost £25 although the repair wont last for ever, maybe another 6 - 12 months. I bought a new console in the end. Just google ring of death and you'll soon find a website that will sell you all th eparts and instructions that you need. Its quite rewarding to fix it yourself rather than sending it away at twice teh price.

Just buy a new arcade pack. Why do you think Microsoft sell them when they're not actually functional without any storage?
The new consoles have better chips in them which don't overheat as much, so they're less likely to break. They also have HDMI out, which is handy.

Stick it on Ebay, then buy a new one. People do buy RROD machines, so you'll get some cash back for it.
