Why is it that, with this certain person, I can't connect. Both our connections are fine, our NAT settings are 'open', but when I accept his invite, it says something like "Cant connect to party. There may be connection problems". And the same when I invite him.

This is very annoying. I was playing with Matt, mk4 fanny etc etc
And then tried to get into a game & party with OlberJ and it just wasn't having any of it. no idea why!

And it had nothing to do with being hammered!

I had this same issue for a few months. My NAT setting was set to open but there would always be one or two people who couldn't join a game/ party with me unless someone else hosted. Tried everything on my router and xbox to no avail.

The problem fixed itself at the start of this week as virgin had to cut off service to all the houses in our area for a few hours. When it came back it all appears to be running well and the few people I knew couldn't connect before now can. So it would appear the problem I was having was with my actual isp.

So it fixed itself? Had the same problem last night and it's happening right now. There's nobody else online either to start a party.

I wouldn't say it fixed itself, virgin must have been doing some pretty major work on their systems as we were without internet or tv for 6 hours. Might be worth speaking to your isp to see if its an issue at their end.

Ok.

But why is it only with one certain friend? Will he have problems at his end too?

I honestly don't know. With me it was always the same people who couldn't join. So i assumed it was some sort of conflict between my internet and theirs.

do you both have your routers (NAT) set to "open" ?
