Call of Duty: Black Ops

Details are really sketchy as it has only just been announced.

Treyarch website has been update - This will be the next call of duty

Video will be released sometime today. Will be interesting to see what information is released with it but predicted to be set in Vietnam. All shall be revealed shortly.

Will be released on the 9th November 2010

If it is set in Vietnam, it HAS to have vehicles, helos and planes. Will be very different MP to the previous COD's. I loved Battlefield: Vietnam so i'm really looking forward to this if its true.

It has been rumour that it will go from the end of WW2 to the start of COD4 but all will be revealed in the next few hours. I hope it moves away from the Killstreak campfest that MW2 has become. Oh and hopefully won't be full of bugs

Is it just me that prefers World at War over MW2?

There are too many "Air Support" options, and if you get pitched against a good team, they can have a constant supply of Planes and Helicopters above you giving you no chance of recovering from a poor start...

I'm not sure why people hate the MW2 killstreaks so much, I find it one of the best parts of the game.

I'm not really interested in 'period' war games so I'll be giving this a miss if it's set in Vietnam.

Because it promotes camping so much. Cod4 was a run - n - gun fest.

I agree.

At first it was a bit confusing with everythign that was going on but now I enjoy it.

Personally I didn't like COD 5 - again maybe because of its "period" setting, and I think the infinity ward games are better than the treyarch ones.

You don't have to camp in MW2, i often run and gun and do quite well (even if i say so myself ). Some nights i'll really enjoy MW2 but some nights i really can't get on with it, it leaves me a bit cold. COD4 is still miles better in my opinion.

It does but I really don't see a great deal of camping, it tends to be crap players that do it as it's their only way of getting a decent amount of kills. Once you know where someone's camping they're easy enough to deal with.

I find MW2 is more tactical than most FPS games, you need a strategy, rather than running around like a maniac.

I think the complete opposite. You can run around with OMA and a noobtube and go mad in MW2. Cod4 was the game of more strategy for me. The problem is you never really need strategy unless you are playing something like search and destroy. Re-spawning gets rid of a certain amount of strategy.

Exactly this, Very hot and cold with it.

Spot on. COD4 never makes me angry. MW2 does piss me off sometimes. I always enjoy COD4 it never really makes me frustrated.

I agree with that, as you means you have to give up SP for CB, which is a nightmre for trying to kill people.

I liked it better too.

For the first time with a COD game since it was a factor, I haven't had the urge to keep playing to prestige even once. Onto about 60 but just didn't have the interest to keep going.

Depends on the game mode, but try that in FFA when I'm on you won't get very far!
