Dante's Inferno PS3 - loss of sound during cutscene

Put it in for the first time this morning and downloaded an update for the PS3. I get all of the sounds and narrative when playing, but nothing at all during the cutscenes... There are subtitles and so I know there's supposed to be something...

Dodgy disc, dodgey machine?

Anybody else experienced the same thing?
