PS3 Green Light, no video or audio?

My PS3 seems to have developed the Green light problem. It will turn on and accept disks, but there is no video or sound. I've tried the double beep reset, but I still can't access the restore screen. Also the controller will not pair with the console. I've had a read up and most people seem to think it's on the way to yellow light of death. Does anyone know of a console repairer in the Birmingham area, or a way to fix this without taking apart and changing the thermal paste (I could do this, but I'm just lazy!)

Had something similar with a friends of mine Try a display reset, turn your ps3 on so the red light is on and the ps3 is on stand by, then hold the power button down for about 10 seconds, this is not a double beep reset, its to reset your display setting, let me know if it works?

Unfortunately, it's an original 60gb, I got it when they announced the 80gb wouldn't be backwards compatiable, my PS2 is knackered too! Do you know if when you trade in can you get a 60gb model? Well my 60GB failed about 8 months ago and the 60Gb weren't for sale,
they did replace it with a 60GB model so you may find they will replace like for like.
Aslong as the "seals" haven't been tampered with they will replace it no problem.
Its juts a PITA that its 150quid for a refurbished machine that you have no idea where its been.
Though im presuming there is atleast new laser in it.
If I remember rightly there is a 90 day warranty on them.
They will send a courier with your replacement and he just swaps them over.
Mine also had a disk stuck in it and didint get it back for 8 weeks, I was told that at the time to be fair though.
