MW1 vs MW2.

Just bought MW1 for a tenner because all my mates still have it. Tonight was the first time I've played it for more than a year.

The spawning system is dreadful. Worse than MW2.

Atleast 80% of people were sniping. Everyone was running around with M4A03s with ACOG scopes.

And I thought MW2 had problems!! Anyone playing it instead of MW2?

How is the single player? I have never played multiplayer on MW2 because it's st. I don't play on playing multiplayer on MW1 if I buy it because it's apparently worse.

I prefer MW2 because its easier to get enormous killstreaks and there are nukes and chopper gunners. MW2 has the better graphics and looks shinier in general, but COD4 had amazing maps and a great feel. Its really close between them for me, I love jumping back on to COD4 for a little session, I don't think it will ever lose its playability for me. But neither will MW2...

Try Battlefield Bad Company 2 and see if that's a bit more fun for you.

How do you know if you've never played it?

It is annoying though, too many rewards for the already good, while the crap players like me, struggle with anything over a 5 kill streak... Although I did get my personal best of 7 yesterday!!

(PS - that was all done by shooting people with a gun... actually, it was a shotgun, none of this hiding from afar bks!! Proper man kills!!

On level 66 now, good god it takes forever now to level up!!!

Dave, i felt the same as you did when i started playing the game. I was lucky to get a K2D ratio of 1:1!lol you just need to keep at it and try to lurn from others. Im finding some fo the new maps REALLY hard. spend most of my time watching kill cams but at least im lurning where they are moving.

TO be honnest im really enjoying MW2 multiplayer now. Not played MW1 online yet (have the game) so might give it a go soon.

I'm doing better now than I was a few weeks back... Although I don't think my connection is helping...

Killcams show me doing things in places I did ages before getting killed... Like looking in a different direction, not shooting even though I'd pumped a full clip into them, etc...

As fair as campaign goes, MW1 wins

But if you get a week off work, play MW1 then MW2 on veteran difficulty for a day, amazing!

It's like playing Goldeneye with someone who has never seen it before, on Licence to Kill with Power Weapons. Totally, utterly pointless.

I play the single player game on veteran, currently stuck on the oil rig rescue hostages level. Completed on hardened, so it's not like I'm a total spackker. I just think the way multiplayer is set up is crap, and cannot see any benefit in playing it.

You need to persevere...

The longer you play it, you'll unlock the better weapons, the better perks etc...

Plus in the process you'll learn the maps, the camping spots, where not to go etc...

I usually finish at the bottom of the table, but I don't care, you can be ste and still enjoy it... Then when you unlock the AA12 shotgun, you can become a mentalist and cause havoc in HQ games!

Have to disagree with you there. IMO MW1&2 are much much better than 5. I was a late starter on MW1 but once I got it I couldn't put the thing down. Really looked forward to COD5 but was dissapointed & I've defo not got my moneys worth because I went straight back to MW1. TBH I couldn't point a finger and say this why its a load of rubbish but it just doesn't seem to have the same playability for me.

MW1 for me is great because it just seems alot more simple to play than MW2 although going back to it the lag & friend invites are still a pain for me. Although I enjoy the way MW1 is more than 2 I still prefer to go on MW2 for some reason.

You'll never get any better if you give up so easily. Everyone gets their arse kicked to start with, part of the challenge is to get better. Watch what the people who beat you do and learn (or should that be 'lurn' ) from it .

Winning against real people is more rewarding/ satisfying and when you play with friends etc it's more fun IMHO (except when they shoot your killstreaks down ).

Why can't they have an area for newbies to learn? Or a multiplayer version with simulants? Or a mode where it's not one hit kills?

I literally have no idea how anyone can rate the multiplayer on MW2. I'd still rather play Perfect Dark or Timesplitters.

Were you playing Hardcore mode? It would explain the one hit kills and camping. I rarely play hardcore for that reason.

Hardly any of the guns are one hit kills in regular mode, just some sniper rifles and shotguns.

Just play some team death matches, and loiter round a couple of team mates, go where they go, look where they look, shoot who they shoot, etc...

You'll soon level up and unlock the better stuff, as well as learning the maps...
