Is my 360 history?

Hi all,

My 360 seems to have developed a rather unhelpful fault. It doesn't display picture or sound anymore! It was fine Sunday night, but yesterday evening it came out of the blue. Tried it again this morning, same thing. I've tried connecting it up to a different TV and different HDMI cable, but the same thing has happened. The weirdest thing is, the controller connects up OK, and if I hold down the Xbox Guide button, move up on the control stick twice and press A, I can still turn the console off remotely. So it must be displaying somehow, somewhere?!!?

Any ideas? Please tell me there is a simple explanation and I can carry on playing RDR!

This happened to me although it was only the picture I lost, some people said it could take ages to repair. Ended up buying a new arcade with about 3 years warrenty on it.

Join the club; mine did this a while ago - apparently the motherboard is fubar'd It is fixable but I've never got around to sending it off to MS; a lot of people seem to prefer forcing it to RROD so they can try and get it fixed for free.

Just the picture went on mine and it was something to do with the graphics card. I was quoted around £80 for the fix so I bought a new one for the warranty and sold the broken one on Ebay.

I had a cd drive fault on mine recently. Was two and a bit years old so no warranty. Phoned microsoft who wanted me to pay £65 for the reapir. Went back and registered the fault online and just clicked the RROD option. Got free shipping labels and a free repair..!!! I know a few people who have done this.

What's the best course of action now then? Sending it back as a RROD failure when it isn't seems risky to me, surely they will know when they switch it on? I'm not paying the feckers £80 for a repair either, seing as the thing cost me £300 in the first place and has lasted 2 and a half years!
