Xbox 360 - scratches disks?

Well sods law - praising Forza yesterday, got home to have a go and some tracks wouldnt load. Had a look at the disk and its scratched to buggery.

I've had my Xbox 2 weeks and already its chewed up the disk. Bit of research shows not uncommon.

Thankfully EB Games will replace the disk but not after a battle.

Any others had this issue and whats the fix?

Also download the games onto your hard-drive if you can, then the disc is only needed to boot rather than play from.

1. How can I do this?
2. I take it its just to launch the game, but once in is not needed.

Is this correct?

The Xbox is renowned for scratching disks if it's moved while the disc is spinning. I've had a couple of games ruined that way...

1.Load the disc as normal and go to the dashboard. Go to My Xbox and scroll along to game library. Find Forza in there, sometimes isn't at the top even though last played (don't ask me why). Click it and then Install on Hard Drive or something similar.

2. Correct.

EB Games are giving you a new disk because YOUR X-box scratched the disk, well done thats a victory!

I always install my games to HDD now, it's faster, quieter and saves disk/ disk drive wear. They do take up a bit of space though, obviously.

I do the same since my son knocked the xbox at christmas and scratched a new game.
I bought a cheap Chinese 250GB drive and its worked perfectly.
