Championship Manager v Football Manager

I was a huge fan of the original Champ Man back in the day, I understand the people behind it split a few years ago and one set now produce 'Football Manager' whilst the other 'Champ Man - which one is most like the original?

FM is by the Collyer brothers who wrote the CM series. When they split , they lost the rights to the name but I think they kept the data.

Football Manager. As said above they originally created Championship Manager but when they split with Eidos they lost the rights to the name.

Just playing Football manager 2010 now, and finding it incredibly difficult!
