Looking at Valves website, doesnt look likely. I just wondered if there were any whispers.

^ they keep pushing the date back further and further. God knows why it's taking so long. People will have forgotten what half life is by the time they get it finished.

Valve are expected to make 3 big announcements over the next year apparently. News on Ep3 is expected to be one of those suprises.

Not sure what the other 2 are (prays for a revamp to CS:s....as it's due!)

There's never been anything official regarding Ep3 - so any info regarding it is nothing but speculation. Heck, its not even known if their will be an Ep3 or something "bigger" to continue the story.

Something has to come, but Valve really do take their time. Half-Life was very late in 1998. Then Half-Life 2 didn't turn up until 2004. Episode 3 or Half-Life 3 or whatever it will be called is as late as the rest.

Im suspecting that they are designing and building a new graphics & physics engine and that it will be another big leap forward like the source engine was in its time. It could be anything - 3D, a leap forward in physics, a leap forward in interaction, them getting in on the mmo market, more advanced AI.

HL2 wasn't officially announced until shortly before release IIRC, Valve tend to like keeping things secret. So I wouldn't assume that nothing is happening, it is in development.

I'm looking forward to Portal 2 as well.

Every time someone makes a fat joke towards Gabe Newell the date for episode 3 gets pushed back.

EP3 / HL3 is coming, Portal2 is running on the new HL Engine.

I cannot wait and was gutted how quickly and how EP2 finished.
