PS3 / GT4 help

i have a 40gb PS3 and a mate has an 80GB that he never uses.

Mine obviously wont play ps2 games, his will. Question is if i offer to swap him can i transfer my gamer tag etc over to his machine or do i have to start from scratch!?

Back-up all the data on the HDD, copy it to the new one, and then just sign in with your PSN ID.

no.... but im bored of prologue.... and i recently bought a steering wheel and feel like i've wasted £100 on a wheel i'll never use as GT5 will never be released!!

i may just try to borrow his PS3...

I revisited all the GT games using my old PS2 a few months ago (I even bought GT1 and 2 off Ebay as I'd binned my old PS1 and PS2 games)
