Xbox 360 wireless adaptor?

So I am moving house tomorrow and my xbox won't be anywhere near the router so I need one of these wireless adaptor things.

First question: Are they rubbish? I'm currently wired in so are random drops in connection to be expected?
Second question: If I'm not streaming data etc is there any advantage to the wireless N as this seems to be twice price of the g one.

Third question: Has anyone upgraded their old style xbox to a new one and have an adaptor they want to flog?

Final question do those home plug things work?

I have one and rate it very highly, it cost around £50 when I bought it however as the new 360s is out with it built in there are loads of them floating about on eBay for not much money, I reckon you'll be able to pick one up for £20-£30.

Mine has never dropped connection so worth every penny IMO.

I have the black one with extra antenna thing, seems to work fine now. (apart from the odd bfbc 2 server issue)

although did take a bit of setting up with the bt homehub.

Got the black one 'cos it matches the elite

I must say mine was very easy to set up, no messing about at all but I suppose it varies with which ISP you use.

Been using one for over a year now, 1stly stealing the internet connection from the flat upstairs(with their permision but just proving the connection is good), and then with my own broadband connections.

Easy to set up, and I have 2 Xbox's and use the adaptor on both, no problems with connection at all. Definately they way to go if your no where near the router.

Main problem is the price though, brand new they're £50-£55, and 2nd hand £40-£45, well worth it though.

Seems fine to me, remember as a buyer on eBay you are protected very well anyway.

Someone else has taken it already nevermind.

I have had issues as a buyer with paypal where item didn't appear and paypal said they couldn't recover my funds from the seller... It kind of puts me off.

Trade in the older Xbox and some old games for the new slim model xbox, it has wireless built in! Did that from my son's one rather than fifty quid for just the adaptor.

Cheers, sadly it appears to have sold already and then been lost before posting .

I know we have classifieds but we could really do with a for sale / swap section like that on here.

oh definatly. the one on the main board is perfect for cars

but for lil bits bobs games etc its hard to find stuff. a msg board like that would be bang on.

there's a few more on that board and on the 360 games section search and u shall find!

I went for homeplug, which lets you run your network down the power cables in your house. So I have a wired connection from my 360 to the router. It's ace.
