Anyone playing this? I was tempted to rent it for the week, but unsuprisingly blockbuster don't have any stock.
I think I'll wait a bit to get it, I've heard Battlefield Bad Company 2 is £20 in PC World/Currys so I'm going to give that a go.
Still, I played the demo of DR2 and it was pretty good fun. Loved putting a drill bucket on a zombies head and watching it mulch.

I'll get it eventually. The original was the most infuriating game ever though, trying to escort the survivors for the achievement where you rescue all of them was the most awful bit of gaming I've ever had to play. The mongtards would constantly run into zombies or break out into tears and would require constant supervision, all the while the timer was ticking down and the deadline slipping away from your grasp. I gave up in the end and haven't played it since as it annoyed me that much.
I think if I ignore the rescue bits and just play it as a heartless git who simply wants to kill zombies then I'll enjoy it more.

Apparently the time limits are still there, and it still has some of the same annoying flaws as the first one but most reviewers are saying its still a decent game.
I actually had a great laugh with the first one, mashing zombies was good fun, i didnt pay much attention to the story so will probably be getting this one too. The co-op intirgues me as well.

The OH bought it, looks quite fun from what I seen, there are still time limits, there are still escorting survivors, but the big differences are the maintenance rooms where you can combine weapons to make daft/funny/deadly weapons, also a big omission is the camera, I heard it's coming as DLC, but that was one of the best bits of DR1 IMO, looking through your snaps of the funniest deaths.
TIR online is good though, if controlling it is a little clunky, good way to make big bucks for the single player mode.
If it were up to me, I wouldn't buy it, I just don't like time limited games, one wrong save and your done.

It's sort of coming as DLC, they're bringing out another short DLC episode, a bit like the one they released just before the game, that features Frank West from the original game and his camera. The survivors are a LOT better at following you on this one and they rarely get grabbed by zombies even if you're just jogging through the crowds. Time limits are still there and very annoying, I made a save at the wrong point without realising I had to be at the other side of the map. I literally had to reload it 4 times to find the quickest route back in order to make it in time!
It is great fun though, MMA gloves + nails = gore galore!

Pre-ordered it and been playing over the weekend. I loved the first one, despite the annoyances (and there were a lot). The survivors are much smarter now, and you have 3 save slots, and there are more places to save, so there are some improvements.
The combo weapons are superb, and there are tons of them. You can have loads of fun just pissing around finding new ways of killing them.

I got this last week and am enjoying it. Love the weapons and the ability to combine things to make them even deadlier.
I didn't have the first one but i'm noticing the flaws that others have pointed out. These include the time limit to do things, the save points which can be a little annoying sometimes (especially is you walk into a boss fight and get mullered) and I'm really struggling to sort out Snowflake. Anyone know how to tame or kill this annoying cat? I've tried taming but when I throw the steak she just runs over it and mauls me. Also, she seems quite hard to kill with weapons.

I think you just wont kill some of these guys at low levels. I didnt kill the chainsaw bike guy.
I struggled with the Chef loads of times, but came back just before it expired when I was a lot stronger and it was relatively easy. I avoided him till he ran for food, then took a few hits and retreated. Repeat till dead.

Chef - Pretty much deal with him the same way as most other psychopaths, plenty of health and a couple of weapons, just bash the crap out of him, especially when he's eating, replenish health when required, dodge his thrown object when required, repeat.
Chainsaw bike - Again plenty of health here is required. Best way to deal with him is to stand near a wall or fence when he charges at you, he will hit the wall/fence and be stunned for a few seconds, bash.
Other option is to wait for him to "taunt" you and whack him but there isn't much time to get over to him.

Finally killed snowflake last night. I tried loads of times to tame her with steak but she didn't seem bothered.
When you are in the casino, kill Ted then run to the centre of the room. There is a large centre piece which you can climb up.
Kill the zombie on the first level to get the shottie, then climb the next level (around the back of where you killed the zombie) to get zome Zombrex and a Light Machine Gun. Stay on here shooting Snowflake, or move around and climb on top of some of the other machines and shoot her.
It took me a while to do this and basically it's a case of chipping away her health. I used all of the LMG ammo, and the shottie, then found 3 handguns on zombies in the cafe bit which I used to finish her off. I am only on a basic skill level so it may have been easier with a higher one.
After killing the tiger I began to enjoy the game again and have been creating some fun weapon combos. The ripper is interesting, so is the light sword.
