Battlefield 2 help

So, I play a bit of battlefield 2. Wiped my computer about two weeks ago. Re-installed today as I fancied a game, did all the updates I can find. Once the game has loaded up, the mouse is just frozen in the middle of the screen. I can move the mouse around on the menu, to select a game etc, but once the map loads.... I can't use the mouse.
What do I do?
