Buying a Fanatec? Don't!

Its not a GT3 RS replacement, its a PWTS replacement.

Yes but they said it is their number 1 wheel (or will be).

Graham, if you can wait I'd cancel the order. They will be available to order this week I'd imagine!

Fanatec don't work like that. They wont be shipping this side of March I'll bet. Might be a good wheel though, their track record with first-revision wheels has been terrible, but the second versions are always better. Hopefully they learned a lot building the PWTS.

when you got yours alex, once it shipped how did they send it?

As if it DID ship last week im wondering when i can expect it.

I.e. Fedex i would expect by Tuesday/Wednesday latest.

I think they use UPS, and it takes about a week.

For those interested, the new Fanatec wheel is from a 2008 GT2 and will be available by the end of the year!

Is there any news on when its available? I'm sure I'm jumping the gun a bit but really want a wheel for GT5 and to replace my knackered Microsoft one.

will be keeping an eye on this, havent picked up gt5 yet as i dont have a wheel, but would be great to also be able to get rid of (ebay) my MS wheel and use this new one on both 360 (Forza) and ps3 (GT5) ... looks fantastic aswell.

I have a Fanatec Pure which I bought for my PS2. I've since bought a PS2 to USB converter for use on the PS3 and it works in the GT5 menus, but won't work at all when it comes to a race. It's the same on GT5 Prologue too.

Any suggestions?

The 911 Turbo S was way overpriced and it seems people had issues with them too. If the new one is more reasonably priced I might be interested.

Emailed them today asking where mine was as i had the email saying it was shipping last week. Got an email back saying there was a mistake and it now wont ship until Jan. How can they get it THAT wrong!? very tempted to bail and get a G27......

Hahaha, welcome to Fanatec world. I emailed them a similar thing to you, and got a frank 'no, shipping is jan, no exceptions'

Expecting my other fanatec today though.. fingers crossed

bunch of fkers. If it will be jan thats fine but email saying it will be next week and then push it back by 6 weeks is a bit harsh, feel like a right Melon as ive been asking stores dept every day this week if its arrived!!


Do you think its worth asking about the new GT2 wheel or should i stick with the GT3 RS?

ETA: probably wont get anywhere but just expressed my disapointment and asked them to confirm if the impending release of the new wheel will effect the price of the GT3 wheel.
