Yesterday I got within 3000xp of prestige on black Ops, when my 8 year old ran across the room, slipped and landed on the xbox!!!

The xbox survived, but somehow the read head on the drive has scored the game disk all the way round. Now the disk loads but hangs when you join a game.

Is there anyway you can replace a damaged copy, for a good one for a smaal fee? Or do I have to man up and buy another.

Cheers

The IJ

why is your xbox on the floor!? biggrin

you could always claim it on the insurance_jon

older xbox's are a pain for scratching discs at the slightest nudge, ive had to pickup new copies where its happened to me before.

Should be able to get a replacement, check with Activision support, you'll probably need to send them the old one and a tenner or something like that.

Take it to HMV or Game and there's a good chance they'll be able to repair it for you yes

blimey never realised that, oh well.. ive had a go myself in the past with those cd cleaner jobbies (that swirl around and remove light scratches) but didnt help the game disc so just binned them.. will remember HMV/Game for next time it happens, cheers! smile

It wasn't it was on a shelf under the plasma, but his foot hit the xbox and launched it through behind the unitfrown.

It's a 2 month old Xbox elite (or whatever the HD one is called).

Will try game this afternoon, cheers guys.

If that fails. Find a friend with black ops, install the game onto your hard drive and then use your disk to load it.
Has worked fine for me in the past.
